2020 Elections Calendar for Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester

BRIEF ELECTION RULES
You must register to vote at least 30 days before the election. Polling places are open on Election Day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. You may vote absentee by mail for one of 18 reasons, including work conflict, vacation, or being age 65 and older. Please give yourself time to do this, as the absentee process requires an application. We are encouraging voters to vote absentee for their health and safety and that of poll workers given the concern of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in 2020.

Zoom Community Event Voting in the Time of the Pandemic. The LWVCA presents a community online Zoom meeting on May 14 to address Voting in the Time of the Pandemic. The meeting is tailored for individuals as well as representatives of larger groups (faith-based organizations, non-profits, and other community organizations) who want to disseminate this information to their constituencies. Content areas to be discussed during the online meeting include: Registering to vote Voting by absentee ballot Voting safely Question and answer session

To register for the Zoom meeting please email your name as well as the organization you represent (if any) to vote@lwvcharleston.org. We will email the link with access codes for the meeting by Wednesday, May 13. If multiple people from the same organization plan to participate, each individual needs to complete the registration process. Note: Internet access is required to connect to the meeting.
